Race The Cape

Race the Cape is a sailing regatta held in co-operation between the St. Peters Marina  the new Ben Eoin Marina, the Bras d'Or Yacht Club, the Northern Yacht Club, the Royal Cape Breton Yacht Club and the Dobson Yacht Club. A new event, created to showcase one of the world’s most beautiful islands, will take place next summer on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada. Organized by the Sail Cape Breton Association and sanctioned by the Royal Cape Breton Yacht Club, Race the Cape is a six-day event that includes four days of point-to-point races in the Bras d’Or lakes and the open ocean along with nightly entertainment including live Celtic music. During a layover day in the town of Baddeck, participants have the option of sailing in the local McCurdy Cup race.   “Race the Cape aims to unlock this beauty for the Atlantic coastal sailing community by allocating this experience of a challenging world class international Sailing Regatta, and sharing our other great asset, the hospitality and culture of our people,” said Race Chair Don Rowe. Race the Cape is open to all monohull yachts with a current Nova Scotia Yachting Association Data Sheet on record, as well as out-of-province yachts with a current PHRF certificate. There will be Spinnaker and Non-spinnaker divisions. For more information including charts and the Crew Bank, visit racethecape.ca.
